At long last, I've finished uploading my MSN drawings on here. Started this endeavor back in 2009, and gave up late 2011 because I was exhausted uploading all of that stuff.
However, last month, I decided to finish the job once and for all. The ability to upload multiple deviations at once helped a lot with that, but moving and arranging them all into the correct folders was quite the frustrating experience to say the least; lots of buggy features on this site. lol (For example, rearranging multiple deviations at once just scrambles them instead of moving them to where you wanted. Really makes me wonder if they even test their shit at all.)
I've also begun drawing new ones. Now, I can already hear you say "But Darky, Windows Live Messenger has been defunct since 2013!" and you'd be right, sadly (RIP). What I'm doing is use GIMP and limit myself to the brush sizes and colors that were available on the messenger's handwriting feature.
I was originally going to do it in Photoshop, as I had created myself a few brushes that would near-perfectly replicate the looks of MSN handwriting, but I have an issue where Photoshop can't seem to handle pen sensitivity smaller than 1:1 pixel, which causes jagged curves if I don't draw while zoomed in 200% or more.
Actually, I can get my pen's sub-pixel sensitivity to work if I tab to another window and back quickly, but it won't remain functional for longer than a few seconds... so maybe the problem lies within my tablet drivers rather than Photoshop, but it's strange regardless.
Anyhow, I couldn't find a way to fix that problem, and GIMP offers the closest match out of the other art programs I currently have. GIMP has the same sensitivity issue, but the 'smooth stroke' option remedies it.
So yeah, if you're watching me, I hope you have it set to get notified of my Scraps submissions, because it's probably going to be my most active category. I hope to revitalize my motivation/inspiration to draw by working on more crude sketches, rather than focusing on polished pieces. I uploaded a few scraps a couple months ago for Inktober, but I think they pretty much went unnoticed. Like the rest of my gallery tbh.
